Registering an Industrial Design helps protect its visual appearance and secure exclusive rights against unauthorized copying or imitation. To qualify for protection in Indonesia, an Industrial Design must be new (novel) and must not have been publicly disclosed before the filing date. Documents only need to be signed. No notarization or legalization is required

Throughout the registration process, SKC Online will provide: • Confirmation that your application has been filed with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP) • Official filing receipt • Ongoing monitoring of your application • Regular progress updates Estimated Timeline • Filing will proceed once the required documents have been completed. • The entire service fee is payable once your application has been filed with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP). • The registration process generally takes approximately 1 to 2 years, subject to the examination process conducted by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP). • Upon successful registration, the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP) will issue a Certificate of Registration. • Once registered, your Industrial Design is protected for 10 years from the filing date. • The protection period cannot be renewed or extended.
